Prairie can mix concrete with many different characteristics to provide
specific service and finished qualities to match the specified application.
Some typical mixes produced to meet various applications include:
Lightweight Concrete refers to concrete with a
density of 90-115 lb/ft³ compared to normal weight concrete of 140 - 150
lb/ft³.
High Performance Concrete (HPC) refers to concrete with a
specified compression strength of 6,000 psi (40 MPa) and greater.
Flowable Fill is a high slump, low strength
concrete used primarily to replace compacted granular material.
Self Consolidating Concrete is a highly workable concrete mixture that can be placed in restricted structural elements by means of its own weight with no vibration.
Architectural Concrete refers to the combination
of decorative or aesthetic applications with structural fabrication.
Post-tensioning applications combine the high
compressive characteristics of concrete with the tensile strength of steel to
increase overall strength and durability.
